After playing a game of Tennis at Greenwich park, we decided to make the short trip to East Greenwich Pleasaunce and check out the new table supplied by the English Table Tennis Association. I used to play table tennis at the local youth club and Leisure centre when i was a teenager, but not much since then.  The table tennis table is made by Joola, and looks really nice, i was impressed by the build quality and the metal net was interesting, and later found out unforgiving!  it’s situated in a area partly surrounded by trees, this helped with the wind as it was quite a blustery day.

We started a quick knockabout and quite quickly we both really enjoyed playing, my friend picked it up very easily, after i gave him a short lesson on the basics. 30 mins later we were still playing and laughing and trying to do smashes! If you live near one of the tables i urge you to go down and give it a try, great fun for all the family. Whilst we were taking a break, 2 boys started pestering their dad to play with them and they seemed to really enjoy playing even though, they were only just taller than the table.

Bats and balls are available from the near by cafe Pistachios.
